Women in the Church Retreat

Last weekend was our Presbytery's women's conference. This was an amazing time of fellowship and renewing my heart. I came away refreshed and ready to tackle the job of teaching first grade. Sue Jakes was our speaker - she spoke on Telling God's Story to the Next Generation. (Interestingly enough, I met Sue's daughter Joanna in Kampala. The world of believers gets smaller and smaller!) The Lord really used Sue's teaching to speak to me.

Backing up to the week before, it had been a pretty rough week with my kids and I was struggling some with reentry stress. Believe it or not, transitioning back to life in America can be hard. It was good to get away to the mountains of North Carolina with fellow believers. It did feel a little strange as this was the first year I was going with a different church. Now that I live in Dillon, I've joined First Presbyterian and am enjoying getting to know everyone in this church.

Saturday morning I had the privilege to share about what God taught me in Uganda. How I love sharing about God's grace and what he's been teaching me. Here's a few photos of our trip!
